Did you know that it has been 25 years since Hocus Pocus debuted? In fact, it hit theaters in July 1993, an odd date for a Halloween movie for sure. This odd debut time might have been part of the reason that the movie opened to lackluster reviews and success. In fact, it was kind of a flop. It’s hard to believe now because this movie has become synonymous with Halloween and is a cult classic of sorts.
The other lesson to learn here is that just because something doesn’t pay off, do as well as you think it should at first, or is a big flop, doesn’t mean that it won’t turn around and end up as a success.
