I am a Mormon. You probably have heard of us–but what you may have heard may or may not be accurate. You can learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by visiting mormon.org. I also recommend checking out the movie Meet the Mormons.
Anyway, this is relevant because I attended and graduated from BYU (you can go to BYU even if you aren’t Mormon) GO COUGARS!.
Every Tuesday BYU has either a Devotional or a Forum where a wide-range of speakers are invited to address the attendees. You can access most of the devotionals or forums at speeches.byu.edu.
One of these devotionals was given by Johnathan G. Sandberg, a professor in the Department of Family Life at BYU. The devotional was entitled Healing=Courage+Action+Grace . It has become one of my favorite references.
Free Personal Growth Quote
My favorite part of the talk was this line, “My Savior Cares More About My Growth Than He Cares About My Comfort.” So, I made a printable quote to frame in my home. I thought I would share it with you! Think about it! Our natural state is to seek comfort. Feeling uncomfortable is something we as human beings try to avoid. But, most, if not all, growth comes from uncomfortable, stretching experiences and situations.
Oh! This weekend we had a fairly quiet Saturday. Soccer season is over, we had a scouting Merit Badge class where I taught and my older son attended, and then we had a practice for a play my younger son is involved in. BUT, really other than that it was our day!
Today, I am going to make some cupcakes and then decorate them tonight while we watch a movie as a family. My boys are getting older–I have a teenager–and I know how precious, and fleeting, family time is.
We’ll use these cute gold candy corn cupcake toppers and, if we don’t eat them all, share a few with our neighbors.
Gold Candy Corn Eat-Your-Vegetables Sign
This baby is printed and in a frame! It currently sits as part of my dining table centerpiece. My kids reference it often as they ask for candy corn with dinner instead of green beans or broccoli.
Have you had your Halloween decorations up for a month now? Are you like me and are only half decorated because you can’t for the life of you find the other bin of Halloween decor? Plus, you can’t find the time or muster the energy to look for the bin? Either way, I have a touch of Halloween for your mantle, unadorned mirror, or pantry door–A gold candy corn Halloween banner.

I love candy corn! Plus, I love Halloween! I am completely in love with all of the gold decor, gold party elements, and gold in general! My friend Bentley turned 4 this past month! It was so fun to create some printables for his construction party. His mom came up with the cutest ideas including silverware “tools”, and the best names for construction themed food, served in yellow hard hats. Take a look at the pictures from his party, and then scroll down and grab the printables for your own party!
